Vasudha Asher is our Student of the Month for March 2010. She is a student of the Diploma in Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions conducted by ASCL Law School (a division of Asian school of Cyber Laws).

Vasudha is a law student interested in all things corporate! She has completed several prestigious internships from various law firms.

She has done her bit for the community by working with Helpage India, an organization devoted to rehabilitating the aged, needy and homeless.

Vasudha is a voracious reader and also an amateur writer herself!

Prateek Sethi is our Student of the Month for February 2010. He is currently pursuing the Diploma in Corporate Law conducted by ASCL Law School (a division of Asian School of Cyber Laws).Prateek is a keen student of law and has tried to improve his understanding of the subject by participating in several national moot court competitions.

Very interested in music, Prateek has B.A in Indian Classical Music qualifying in both Indian Vocal Classical singing and playing the Tabla.

Prateek also won third prize for Street Theatre at Delhi School’s Literacy Project.

Santosh N Khadsare is our Student of the Month for January 2010. He is a student of the ASCL Certified Cyber Crime Investigator course conducted by Asian School of Cyber Laws.

Santosh has completed his Engineering in the field of Electronics and Telecom. He has been a part of the Indian Army for 10 years. At present, he is a Major with the Indian Army.

Santosh has also successfully completed several security courses run by the Army. He is fond of reading and also participates in adventure sports.

Santosh makes a social impact by running the “Eshwari Foundation” an organization dedicated to helping poor children.

U. Parvathavarthini is our Student of the Month for December 2009. She is a student of the PG Program in Cyber Law conducted by Asian School of Cyber Laws.

Parvathavarthini was very interested in sports from a young age and received individual Championship in Regional Level Matriculation Sports Meet at Trichy at the age of 12.

In 1997, she was honoured with the award of “The Best Athlete of the Year” at Salem District.

She has even written a book about the practice and achievement of Kovai athletics which was published by W.I. Devaram, I.P.S.

While doing her law course at Coimbatore, she received two years’ individual championship at Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Tamilnadu and continuously achieved Gold Medal for five years in her favourite event – the discus throw. Parvathavarthini was felicitated as the 1st woman to achieve such an award in the history of Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Tamilnadu.

In the past, she has given free training in spoken English and Personality Development for rural students. Now, she trains volunteers of a centre functioning for the improvement of conditions for rural children.

At present, she is practicing in the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court.

Amar Jain is our Student of the Month for November 2009. Amar is a student of the Diploma in Cyber Law course conducted by Asian School of Cyber Laws. “To achieve success by attaining my professional and personal goals through intelligent hard work” – Amar’s motto.

What makes this emotion special is the fact that Amar is completely blind. Amar’s whole life is an achievement to his credit. Amar is studying Law at a prestigious law college. He has several law certifications including in Human Rights and Intellectual Property Rights. In an effort to make himself technically proficient, this self-confessed talkative youngster took up and successfully completed numerous courses from the Hadley School for the Blind, USA. 

When Amar came to know about a University Grants Commission decree that said that blind students should be afforded the opportunity to appear for their exams online by Universities in India, it became a mission in his life. He approached the University of Mumbai appealing that he would not use a writer (like other blind students) to write his exams but would like to utilize his proficiency at computers and take the exam online. To his disappointment, he found himself facing several dead ends and red tape. Instead of losing courage, this young man soldiered on and finally won the battle. In doing so, he has cleared the way for numerous other blind students. 

To top it all, he is a fine singer who has won several awards in the field.

Music: Old music, ghazals, soft music, instrumental music etc. 

Smell: The natural smell of rose

Hobbies: Surfing the Net and playing with different softwares of computer, singing, interacting with as many people as I can, talking on the phone, reading books which contain positive thoughts or self-help books, playing various musical instruments.

Arpita Saha is our Student of the Month for October 2009. Arpita is a student of the Diploma in Cyber Crime Prosecution and Defence course conducted by Asian School of Cyber Laws.

Arpita is currently pursuing her 5 year Integrated B.Sc. LL.B. (Honors in IPR) from National Law University, Jodhpur. She is interested in Intellectual Property Laws, cyber laws and criminal laws, specially in the international domain. She has participated and presented papers in numerous national and international conferences and is also an active member of the Journal and Editorial Committee of her University. Some of her articles have featured in the Top-10 list of articles at Social Science Research Network (SSRN) for a number of weeks.

She is also a regular blogger, and very interested in arts and crafts. Even as a child, she won accolades in painting, sketching, oil painting, glass painting, clay modelling, tattoo making, hand painting, rangoli designing and other such arts. She enthusiastically pursues this artistic bent of mind even to this day. She has participated in and won various competitions at her University and outside. Arpita is an avid reader and enjoys a range spanning comic strips to self help books. She loves music, can “hum a little” ;) and also takes an interest in dramatics and other performing arts.

She has actively taken a part in “Plant a Tree”, “Donate Blood” and other such campaigns, and loves travelling all over the country, even to little known places, to pursue another one of her hobbies, i.e. photography.

Neelabh Rai is our Student of the Month for September 2009. Neelabh is currently studying the ASCL Certified Cyber Crime Investigator course and has already completed the Diploma in Cyber Law course conducted by Asian School of Cyber Laws.

Basically a B.tech (Information Technology), Neelabh then completed his Certified Information Security Expert course and then got training in Network Security and Ethical Hacking from Department of IT, Govt. of India.

Socially, Neelabh is working to help depressed people and especially handles those cases where there are signs of a suicidal tendency. He is also a regular blood donor at various hospitals. For this he was awarded as a “Repeated” Regular Voluntary Blood Donor by the Rotary Blood Bank. He also motivates youngsters to donate blood.

On 26 Aug, 2009, he was selected as an Ambassador for “MISSION: SAFER INDIA” being run by Dr. Kiran Bedi (Retd. IPS) for Noida region.

Neelabh is also actively involved in helping save accident victims and has personally saved 26 lives.

He is an active netizen and published information about “Techniques for Identifying Terrorists” on his website on the day of Delhi September blasts in 2008.

Rakesh is a student of the Diploma in Cyber Law course conducted by Asian School of Cyber Laws.

Rakesh, who has been part of the Judiciary for the last 11 years is also interested in teaching. He teaches in two districts about the Internet. He has even written a guide on the Internet which is provided as part of the curriculum in many institutes.

He teaches students in his area and wishes to assist the Government of India in the field of cyber crimes.

Vishal Makkar is our Student of the Month for July 2009. Vishal is a student of the Diploma in Cyber Law course conducted by Asian School of Cyber Laws.

Even as a child, Vishal was special. He was awarded the “District Child Scientist Award” by the Haryana Vigyan Manch. Later, Vishal also won ‘Rashtrapati Award’ (President Scout Award) by ‘The Bharat Scouts & Guides, National Headquarters, New Delhi’ (signed by the then President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam).

Vishal, who is now an Associate Engineer with 3i Infotech, started his career by securing 3rd position in Sprint (C++ programming event) at Sankalan 2008, the Annual Technical Festival organized by Delhi University Computer Science Society.

Balpreet Singh is our Student of the Month for June 2009. Balpreet is a student of the Post Graduate Program in Cyber Law and the Diploma in Cyber Forensics courses conducted by Asian School of Cyber Laws.

This entrepreneur, who now runs his own immigration agency, is a CNA, MCP, MCSA, MCT and MCDST! He has, in the past, trained personnel of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Police Academy on a regular basis.

He has conducted a detailed study of the Information Technology Act 2000 in co-ordination with the Punjab Police officials.

For his academic contributions to various institutes, he has won several awards and has received much appreciation.
